Design a comprehensive, highly scannable MBR document template organized into these distinct zones:
- Executive Summary & Core North Star: A high-level space to state the overarching theme of the past month and our status against our primary North Star metric.
- The Scorecard (The Metrics): A clean, markdown table structure crossing key performance indicators (KPIs) against Target vs. Actual results, complete with a "MoM Change %" column.
- The Retrospective (The Wins & Hard Truths): Bulleted sections analyzing what drove our biggest successes, what unexpected bottlenecks paralyzed our velocity, and what projects we need to kill or pivot.
- Strategic Roadmap: An execution calendar outlining our top 3 initiatives for the next 30 days, including explicit owners, resource dependencies, and success thresholds.
The four MBR zones

The “Hard Truths” section is the most valuable
Most MBRs document wins and skip blockers. That’s how the same bottleneck shows up for three months in a row. A good retrospective names what paralyzed velocity, what assumptions were wrong, and what needs to be killed — not just what went well.
